Ownagepranks: tatoo parlor gay prank What kind of tatoo should I get and where on my body do you think I should I get it?
Mar 112010

My son went out and got a tatoo in a less than reputable place, the creep that did it didn’t give him any clue how to care for it in the early stages. I am sure there is some information we need like moisture and cleaning and sunshine and some do’s and don’ts. Any info would be appreciated.
I am worried about the cleanliness of the instuments used on my son also, but he won’t tell me where he got it cause he doesn’t want me to go there. My son is 18 so I guess I really have to just hope for the best. Thank you for all the great info, I learned alot. Great web site too.

I don’t have a tattoo but I know people who have them. When it’s new, they keep either vaseline or neosporin on it to keep it moist and to ease the pain (if there is any). I guess it would also help to keep it out of the sun, or it cam be covered with gauze.

The care varies from shop to shop. Typically they say keep saran wrap on it at night so the ink doesn’t leak everywhere and to keep it from getting too dry. Wash it with antibacterial soap a couple times a day (dial foaming soap works great). On about the second day start using a fragarent free lotion. Lubiderm (in the blue bottle worked for me) and put a THIN layer on it a few times a day for several weeks. It will itch and start to peel like a sunburn in a few days and this is normal. Don’t use any antibotic creams on it cause that can mess the tattoo up possibly. Do a web search for tattoo care if you need more info. There are many products out the for “aftercare” with tattoos but what I mentioned worked great for me. I went to a great tattoo studio and this is what the recommended for me and it worked well both times. Also don’t let the shower directly hit the tattoo and use hot water to clean it. Tatttoos can be affected by sun and he should always use sunscreen once it is healed.

First, you need to worry about weather or not the guy that did the tattoo used clean needles. I really hope that your son did not get anything from dirty needles. Maybe you should go back and talk to the guy yourself. Keep the area clean and do not use Neosporin. Use A&D ointment. I think it is like a diaper rash treatment. And don’t expose the tattoo to sun. Good luck. Hopefully your son learned a lesson.

When I got my tattoo they gave me A&D ointment to put on it a few times a day. They also told me when I took a shower to pat dry the area and to not scrach or pick at it.
