Negative space man, negative space!!!! If you are dark every bright color will fade. Go with outlines and little color.

Visit this site if you have myspace, and message Joey Gunnz. He is a local tattoo artist that has done tons of tattoo’s on all shades of skin. You can view his portfolio to under his pictures. He will be able to answer your question.

You can probley make it maroon-ish (not Maroon though maybe). I have friends with really dark skin and they look great in maroon kind of based colors. try testing it out by just having the copy of the tatoo on a paper and test some colors and put it against your skin.

I am dark skinned as well and I have a tattoo of two flowers one is orange and the other pink, both have green stems and they show very good. I get lots of compliments.

Ask your tattoo artist. He or she will be able to suggest colors that will look best with your skin tone, and that will hold up with time.

It is very beautiful!! I think theres light purple, and a darker purple? not sure…
Maybe also a white, or a red.

How about some shaded tones, like pink into peach into yellow? The pink could be the middle portion, moving outward into peach shades, and then into the yellow. I think it would look like it was softly glowing on your beautiful dark skin.

What a lovely idea of a tatto.

Don’t get white ink it doesn’t show up on dark skin the more pale your skin is the more it shows up. The darker bolder colors show up on darker skin. Green, some red and blue and of course black are the best for darker skin. It all really depends on how dark you are. You have to find a good artist and they will tell you the colors that will last longers.

Color shows up less on darker skin because the ink is several layers under the skin. When the tattoo heals the layers of skin grow back over the ink. When white skin grows back it grows back almost transparent so the color of the tattoo is still very visable once the tattoo has healed. Dark skin isn’t transparent so as the skin heal and the layers of skin come back some colors will become dull. Like i said the best thing to do is go and see a tattoo artist and they will tell you the best colors for your skin tone. You might not have a great deal of colors to pick from.

i let the tattoo artist i went to help me pick colors for mine, i told him that i was a funky kind of person and he picked great colors. he told what they were before applying them so i could say yea or nay, but he was really helpful. he also told me that if it will be exposed to the sun or any tanning beds to apply sunscreen to the tattoo so that it reduces the possibility of fading.
